GRETA LOBEFARO

Born on October 12, 2001, she studied piano under the guidance of Professor Giovanna Valente, graduating in piano, old system, at the “N. Piccinni” Conservatory in Bari at 15 years old, with a grade of 10, honors and mention. In 2023, she obtained the Diploma of High Training at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, Rome, in the class of Maestro Benedetto Lupo. She is a student of the International Piano Academy “Incontri col Maestro” in Imola, in the class of Maestros Enrico Pace and Ingrid Fliter and previously in the class of Maestro Roberto Giordano and is attending the second year of the advanced training course in Chamber Music at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, in the class of Maestro Ivan Rabaglia. She was a student of contemporary practice of the repertoire in the class of Maestro Emanuele Arciuli. She has won over 35 first prizes and first absolute prizes in national and international music competitions, including: 1st absolute prize, maximum score at the VIII Piano Competition “Città di Bucchianico” (Chieti) and audience prize, November 2011, 1st absolute prize, XII International Piano Competition “Vietri sul Mare – Costa Amalfitana”, May 2012, 1st absolute prize at the 1st International Piano Competition, Madesimo (SO), August 2012, 1st absolute prize and Romantic Prize at the XX National Piano Competition “G. Rospigliosi”, Lamporecchio (PT), March 2013, 1st absolute prize, 14th National Competition Riviera Etrusca, Piombino (LI), April 2013, 1st prize, 13th International Piano Competition “Città di Gorizia”, 2013, 1st place, section A for children up to 17 years at the 1st European Piano Competition – Città di Empoli, April 2014, 1st prize LIONS Bari Competition, 1st absolute prize cat. Selected among the 3 finalists for the 2020 Yamaha Prize, date of the final to be held. She attended masterclasses with Michele Marvulli (2012, 2013, 2014, 2015), at the International Sommerakademie of the Mozarteum University of Salzburg with Andreas Weber (2013, 2015), with Bruno Canino, Francois Joel Thiollier, Roberto Cappello, Benedetto Lupo, at the “N. Piccinni” Conservatory of Bari, Accademia di Pinerolo, Wolfram Schmitt Leonardy WSL Mannheim March 2018, Emanuele Arciuli, Riccardo Risaliti, Massimiliano Damerini, Andrea Lucchesini, Antonio Pompa-Baldi, Andrej Jasinski, Michail Lifits, Alberto Nosè, Alessandro Taverna. Among the 12 selected worldwide for the second Junior Music Camp with Lang Lang, Barcelona November 2014, organized by Lang Lang Foundation New York and Allianz, the only Italian. Selected among the seven finalists of the Piano San Marino Competition 2016, VII edition. She made her debut with the orchestra La Bottega dell’Armonia at the age of 10 and performed concerts with the “Gavrilii” Philharmonic Orchestra of Vologda, Russia 2016. She has performed concerts as a soloist and with the orchestra in Italy, Switzerland (New Year’s Eve concert 2014, “8th New year Music Festival in Gstaad), Ukraine, Austria, Germany, Spain, Russia, Romania, South Africa, France, Albania. She has also performed as a Yamaha artist in the “Puccini” hall of the “G. Verdi” Conservatory of Milan, for the Camerata Musicale Barese, July 4, 2020, for the Pinerolo Music Academy, Summer Festival, July 27, 2020, for Musical Evenings, Società del Giardino, Milan, Palazzo Pitti Yamaha Florence, Associazione Mozart Lecce.

He recorded for D major TV, Milan. He recorded a CD for Odradek records THE SPHERES July 2018. He recorded for the International Academy of Imola and the 2R, Schumann’s op.6 as part of the box set The works for piano solo. He recorded a complete works by A. Scriabin for the 2R Digital Cassic with Fazioli pianos, January 2025. He is a teacher of piano practice and reading at the “F. Cilea” Conservatory of Reggio Calabria. He collaborates with the Education sector of the Accademia di Santa Cecilia.
